40G LR4 and ER4: What You Need to Know

If you’re looking for an introduction to 40GBASE LR4 and 40GBASE ER4, you’ve come to the right place. In this blog post, we will discuss the basics of these two technologies, including what they are, how they work, and who should be using them. We’ll also provide a few tips on getting start with 40GBASE LR4 and 40GBASE ER4. So without further ado, let’s get started! By following these nine tips, you can master the art of WordPress Gallery Plugin.

What is 40G QSFP LR4?

40G QSFP LR4 is an optical transceiver module design for use in 40G Ethernet links. The optical interface is via an LC connector. Each channel uses a wavelength of 1310nm, for a total link length of 10km on standard single-mode fiber (SMF)
40G QSFP LR4 modules are hot-swappable, meaning they can be replaced without interrupting service on the link. QSFP modules are typically used in data center applications where high-density 40G connectivity is required. It is compliant with the QSFP+ standard and delivers data rates up to 40Gbps. The module supports link lengths of up to 10km on standard single-mode fiber (SMF). It also supports forward error correction (FEC) for enhanced data integrity. The 40G QSFP LR4 technology is ideal for applications such as data center interconnects and storage area networks. Do you new google tricks then click this link i m feeling curious.

Communication system of  40G QSFP+ LR4

40G QSFP LR4 technology optical module  use in the application of 40GBASE-LR4 Ethernet 10km optical communication system. So Its transmitting end converts 4-channel 10Gb/s electrical signals into 4-channel CWDM optical signals and multiplexes them into single-channel 40Gb/s optical signals through optical MUX, and the receiving end demultiplexes the 40Gb/s optical signals into 4-channel CWDM optical signals The optical signal  convert into a 10Gb/s electrical signal by a photodetector.
The optical interface of the module adopts dual LC optical fiber connectors. So The center wavelengths of the 4-channel CWDM channels are 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm, respectively. The modules are compliant with SFF-8472 v10.2 and IEEE 802.3ba standards, and the electromechanical characteristics are compliant with QSFP+ MSA (SFF-8436 v3.4).

The 40G QSFP+ LR4 optical module has a data rate of 10.5Gb/s per channel and a distance of 10km using single-mode fiber. The transmitter of the module adopts a 1310nm band light MUX uncooled DFB laser. The module adopts nPPI (4x10G) electrical interface mode and  power by +3.3V single power supply. The module has DDM function with 2-wire serial communication management interface. The maximum power consumption is less than 3.5W. The product reaches the international standard Class 1 laser safety level and complies with RoHS6.

What is 40G QSFP ER4?

40G QSFP+ ER4 optical module adopts CWDM transmission technology, usually used with LC duplex connector, the transmission distance through single-mode fiber (SMF) can reach up to 40km, which is much longer than 40G QSFP LR4. So the 40G QSFP+ ER4 optical module converts 4 input channels of 10G data into 4 CWDM optical signal channels, each with a data rate of up to 11.2Gbps, and multiplexes them into a single channel. The 40G QSFP+ ER4 optical module has transmission The technical advantages of long distance, high efficiency and low management cost are indispensable in the construction of data center network.
